Real Programs Implemented by Real Nurses

We often say it, with Kathi there are always practical takeaways. At the ONE Conference 2020 we’ll hear from staff nurses who have implemented programs in their units to improve Neuro Nurturing Care in their units.

Our very own Sarah Bakke, BSN, RNC-NIC, who has attended every ONE Conference from the very start, and she is so excited to step up to the podium in 2020 to share her work in developing a Language Nutrition program as a staff nurse at Nemours Alfred I duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE.

Jill and Mazal will be sharing their experiences in implementing an Intraventricular Hemorrhage Prevention protocol.

Charlamaine Parkinson RNC-NIC, BSN, MS, recently celebrated 10 years as the Neurosciences Intensive Care Nursery Nurse Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She well share her lessons learned in building a NeuroNICU.

We are also welcoming back Jayne Solomon, MSN, RNC-NIC, NNP-BC. Jayne and the rest of her team from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida will update us on her ONE and Done project from last year’s conference, as well as experiences in developing Neurointensive Care Nursery Standards of Care.

Neuro Nurturing Care Taught by Subject Matter Experts

In Neuro Nurturing Care there is always something new to learn, or room to develop a deeper understanding of the neonatal brain. We have an expert faculty lineup from across the globe ready to help you hone your NeuroNICU skills and knowledge.

We are excited to welcome back Diane Wilson, RN (EC), NP-Paeds, NNP-BC, from Sick Kids, Toronto. Diane will be breaking down the neonatal neurological exam to take your assessment skills to the next level.

Also returning this year is Michelle Waddell, RN, BS, RNC-NIC. Michelle will be presenting on sensory development now and later.

Dr. Tzipi Horowitz-Kraus, PhD, is the principal investigator for several Pediatric Neuroimaging Research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to advance an understanding of neural circuits supporting learning and language in the typically and atypically developing brain. She will be sharing her work in understanding the physiological and cognitive benefits of parent-child interaction through dialogic reading.
