Have you heard? The 2020 ONE Conference Agenda is finalized! This year we have a record breaking number of International faculty from across the globe.  We are so excited to gain new perspectives and knowledge from their expertise in neurocritical care!

Here are highlights from a few of our sessions featuring international faculty:

The conference kicks off on Friday as we welcome back Diane Wilson, RN (EC), NP-Paeds, NNP-BC, from Sick Kids, Toronto.  Diane’s first presentation on the neonatal neurological exam will take your assessment skills to the next level. On Sunday, Diane will return to discuss intraventricular hemorrhage and post hemorrhagic ventricular dilation interventions.

Next, we travel South to Brazil, as we welcome Dr Gabriel Variane, Medical Director, Neurological Neonatal ICU of Santa Casa de Sao Paulo, and founder of Protecting Brains Saving Futures (PBSF). On Saturday, Dr. Variane will discuss an advanced telemedicine protocol bringing neurointensive care throughout the country. Dr. Variane will return on Sunday to describe how combining continuous brain monitoring tools like aEEG and NIRS with other measures of physiologic stability such as SpO2, blood pressure, temperature and heart rate may bring additional information in clinical evaluation of infants at high risk such as neonates with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy.

Dr. Variane’s colleague, Daniela Pereira Rodrigues, Neonatal Nurse Specialist and Clinical Research Manager for Protecting Brains & Saving Futures is also joining us.  Daniela will present on recognition and treatment of seizures during therapeutic hypothermia, as well as the importance of non-pharmacologic interventions for pain management.

Joining us from the other side of the globe, is Mazal Shemer, MA, NNP, RN. Mazal is head nurse of the neonatal intensive care unit at Shamir Medical Center, Israel, and a member of the Israeli National Committee of the IVH Prevention Project, “Head Keepers”.  She will share how the “Head Keepers” program is being implemented across Israel to reduce the rate of IVH.

Also from Israel, and rounding out our International faculty is Dr. Tzipi Horowitz-Kraus, PhD,

Professor at Technion-Israeli Institute of Technology and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr Horowitz-Kraus will be sharing her expertise in how language, attention and visual processing can be nurtured, and how these abilities have the potential to improve using interactive dialogic reading, even at a very young age.

We hope you’ll join us in Orlando at the beautiful Reunion Resort. You can check out the full agenda here: https://synapsecare.com/one-2020-agenda/
